Tonight's moon, just shy of a full moon, was tinted orange and pink in the sky as a result of the lunar eclipse which was seen in other parts of the world. Earth's orbit around the sun, coupled with the moon's orbit around the earth, aligned the planetoids in such a way that the earth cast its own shadow over the moon resulting in a visible shadow in some parts of the world and color-tints in others. |
