The U.S. Supreme Court has been debating the constitutionality of both acts and are preparing to announce their decision later this month.
Event coordinator Paula Johnston of Connellsville and member of "Marriage Equality for Southwestern Pennsylvania" speaks about the importance of putting pressure on local politicians to stand up for LGBT rights in office without worrying about political backlash at the "Day of Decision" rally outside the Fayette County Courthouse in Uniontown, Sunday afternoon.
Married couple Heather (top left) and Amy Jenkins of Uniontown stand with their sons Austin Klink (bottom left), 10, and Tristan Klink, 8, at the "Day of Decision" rally in Uniontown, Sunday afternoon. Heather and Amy were married in Cumberland, Md. as their home state of Pa. does not recognize same-sex marriage or view their marriage as "official."
